Foundation single crochet (fsc) is an alternative to doing
a chain that you sc into for your foundation row. Fsc creates a chain AND a sc
in the same stitch.
1) Chain
2
2) you
will put the hook through the top 2 loops of the first chain you made (2nd ch from the hook)
3) yarn
over, pull up a loop, 2 loops on hook
4) yarn
over, pull through 1 loop, 2 loops on hook (this makes the chain part of the
stitch)
5) yarn
over, pull through 2 loops, 1 loop on hook (this makes the sc part of the
stitch)
6) put
your hook through the same part as you did in step 2 (it will be the chain part
from the first fsc stitch you made)
7) yarn
over, pull up a loop, 2 loops on hook
8) yarn
over, pull through 1 loop, 2 loops on hook (this makes the chain part of the
second stitch)
9) yarn
over, pull through 2 loops, 1 loop on hook (this makes the sc part of the
second stitch)
10) from
here on out you will start by putting your hook through the 2 strands on the
last chain you made from the stitch you just completed. Finish out the stitch
as you did in steps 3-5
