How To Prevent Wavy and Uneven Borders

Here’s a great tip from Kim Beers!
My tips to prevent edge curling
1. When I begin a new project, especially a portrait; I use a hook at least one size smaller than what I intend to use for the
whole project. I have started mounting my finished pieces on canvas to hang on the wall so I don’t necessarily want a really
large finished piece. With that in mind I start my projects with a 3.5/E hook, I use that for all of the beginning border as well
as the large pieces of background. Once I get to the point where I’m changing colors a lot I switch to a size 4.0/F hook. I have
found that once I get to the every stitch color changes that my stitches get a little tighter and smaller. By using a smaller hook
to begin and a larger hook in the middle it keeps my stitches more even and helps eliminate some of the “wave” created by a
loose edge and tight center. 2. Every evening when I lay my piece out to take a picture, I also stretch it out. I kneel on the edge and stretch towards the top
focusing on the center of the piece. This helps to stretch the tighter stitches in the center multi color change sections to match
the looser outer border section.
I hope this info helps. These are a couple techniques I use to keep my project even and prevent having a “wavy” border and
eliminate some of the blocking.

LYA Diamond Painting Kits

How to order my DP patterns and what I have for sale (drop box link shares that info below):
Sandrine Levy is putting together kits (blank grid sticky canvas, complete set of drills, & small tool kit)
for LYA patterns only (limited to my rainbow, pop art, grayscale & brown scale portraits, and maybe
some other patterns with not to0 many colors in them). She is offering to put kits together for
LYA & LDPA members only and within the US & CANADA only, which would probably arrive to your
door in about 1 week from order, IF she has the stock for it, which she will advise at time of your order.
How to order DP KITS (if you live in the US or Canada)
Email Sandrine @: sandrinedp.LYA@gmail.com
If you’ve already got my pattern, send Sandrine the 1st 2nd pages of the pattern (if you can’t figure
out how you can send her the whole pattern), so she can estimate the # of drills and size of the canvas
needed to make up a kit. If you don’t have the pattern yet, but plan to purchase soon, send her the
link of the pattern from my website www.lindasyarnart.com/shop and she will take it from there, but
you will still have to purchase my pattern (none of my patterns on the site are more than $8.00
and custom portraits start at $18.00 and up). The above also applies for any grayscale or brown
scale portrait patterns you have purchased, or intend to purchase, from me. Please note that
whenever I offer a coupon code it only applies to my written pattern NOT Sandrine’s DP kits.
Please join my LDPA (Linda’s Diamond Painting Art) if you have not yet done so if you’re interested
in DP. Here is the link to the site: https://www.facebook.com/groups/607038546343840/
SHOP HERE FOR MY WRITTEN PATTERNS:
Sandrine will offer 3 sizes, plus all the necessary drills in the necessary colors, plus a basic tray, drill tool and wax.
There is also a sampler kit, for anyone new to DP that wishes to try it on a smaller scale.
It’s the Rainbow Yin Yang 58s x 58r (pattern is free but you will need to purchase the kit

The price for the Rainbox Yin Yang kit (includes small canvas, all drills and DP tool kit as per above)
is $20.00 all in, shipping included (US ONLY).
With every kit purchase (for first time customers only), Sandrine includes a tiny little rainbow
sampler, just for you to get a taste of diamond painting. It’s only 16H x 16W and that comes out
to about 1.6” x 1.6” in DP. She will send you a tiny piece of canvas, plus all the necessary drills
to complete it, but you will have to download my pattern. This tiny kit is only included for regular kit purchases.
