I measure the piece, use heavy duty foam board and cut to size, then cut furring strips (you can purchase these at your local hardware or lumber store, they usually come in 8 foot pieces and they are inexpensive) to fit the sides and glue down to side edges.
Once dry, I put the "hairy" (cut & tie) side down in the well created by the furring strips and bring the borders of the piece over the edges to the back of the board and staple down.
Then put on some picture hanging wire and you've got a nicely stretched, mounted, and very light piece to hang.
