Corner to Corner (C2C) vs Other Stitches (Size Comparison)

I get a lot of people asking if they can request a portrait in corner to corner, or even do one of my pre existing patterns in corner to corner instead of the traditional SC or even HDC. The answer is no, unless you want an absolutely huge piece. I don’t recommend doing portraits smaller than about 140 stitches x 140 rows, simply because the image winds up to pixelated any smaller than that and it doesn’t meet my output standard of quality. For SC 140x140 turns out to about 36x36”, so a manageable wall hanging or baby blanket size. Corner to corner is at least 2.5 times the size of SC, so you’re now talking about something that will be about (if not larger) 90 inches x 90 inches. That’s just about King sized and unless you want something that large, corner to corner won’t work. This is the reason why I don’t offer portraits in C2C. For simplistic images, the largest I like to go for C2C is about 80 stitches x 80 rows, which would give you about throw size of 50x50” in C2C, which is usually a manageable size for most. Please take a look at the image below to give you a better visual.
