Stage one, cut your box and lid
and all sides, remember to make the lid slightly larger than the base
Stage two, cover your sides and
lid with the pattern you've chosen, then measure the material slightly larger
than your lid top,
Don't cover the very edges yet, leave them clear

Stage 3 sew the material to 3 of
the lid top sides, tucking in all the sides to neaten off, try and get the
stitches as close to the top of the canvas as possible, keep it taut.
Stage 4 cut a piece of cardboard,
slightly smaller than the top of the lid, and insert it inside like an
envelope.
Then sew the last edge as neatly as possible,
keeping it taut
Sew the lid sides to the lid with
the same wool, try and cover the stitch cotton as you go.
Make sure that you have the correct sides facing

Finished lid,
Repeat all the above stages for the actual box.
